Eric Locke has been sentenced to life in prison this morning for murdering his ex-girlfriend.
The 35 year old of St John’s Park East in Clondalkin lured Sonia Blount to a hotel by pretending to be someone else on Facebook.
Sonia Blount’s body was found in Room 346 of the Plaza Hotel in February 2014.
The court heard Eric Locke had become infatuated with the young mum following a brief relationship and kept messaging her.

Eric Locke had always admitting killing Sonia but denied murder - claiming he had a mental disorder which diminished his responsibility.
But the jury wasn’t convinced and found him guilty of murder on Monday after an hour and a half of deliberations.
Eric Locke said 'I'm sorry' as he was handed the mandatory life sentence this morning.
A shout of 'Rot in hell, you scumbag' rang out in the court.
The judge said it was unspeakable tragedy for the Blount family, particularly Sonia's son Jake.
In victim impact statements, Sonia's family say she had celebrated her son's 3rd birthday with a Toy Story-themed party on the same day she went to meet Locke. She thought she was meeting someone else because Locke had set up a fake Facebook profile to trick her.
Sonia's sisters say Jake was confused when he heard his mum had died and to help him understand, they had to tell him a bold man had taken his mum away - and she's now an angel in heaven looking down on him every day.
