Gardai are investigating if a shooting in the north inner city last night is linked to the city's gangland war. The attack happened at around 10pm on Railway Street.
25 year old Eddie Staunton was knocked off his bike by a Silver Ford Focus with the registration plate 08CN6682. He was then shot several times at Liberty House near Connolly Station while he was being given first aid.
He is reportedly the cousin of crime boss Gary Hutch and detectives are investigating if the attack is connected to the Hutch/Kinahan feud.
The victim was taken to the Mater Hospital where he's in a serious but not life threatening condition.
Gardai are appealing for witnesses and are keeping an open mind as to the motive.
The offender is described as being tall, slim to medium build and was wearing a dark top over a grey hooded top, dark bottoms and dark runners with a white sole.
Detectives are keeping an open mind as to the motive for the shooting and are looking for any witnesses to contact them at Store Garda Station on 01 666800, the Garda Confidential Line, 1800 666111 or any Garda Station.
