The SSE Airtricity League of Ireland season was back with a bang this weekend.
Over 14,400 fans attended the five games, with Champions Cork City, Bohemians, newly promoted Waterford and Limerick the big winners on the opening weekend while Bray got a good point at Dundalk.
City beat St Pat’s 3-2 at Richmond Park while Bohs came from 1-0 down to win 3-1 against bitter rivals Shamrock Rovers at a packed Dalymount Park.
We had reaction from both games on our weekly League of Ireland segment on Now That’s What I Call Sport on Sunday morning.
Jamie Moore spoke to Bohemians’ Manager Keith Long and Shamrock Rovers Head Coach Stephen Bradley after their dramatic derby.
While we also caught up with Saints boss Liam Buckley following their opening night defeat.
Elsewhere, Waterford began their season with a 2-1 win over Derry City, Dundalk and Bray Wanderers drew 0-0 while Limerick won 1-0 in Sligo on Saturday.
