More Dublin teenagers are using sunbeds despite a statuatory ban on their use being introduced in 2014.
A survey published in the Irish Times looked at post-primary students in Dublin and Sligo from November 2016 to February 2017.
They found the number of Dublin students using sunbeds had risen by almost three percent over the last four years.
They also found that young people were using fake IDs so they could use the tanning parlours while students attending private schools were less likely to use the beds compared to teenagers attending public schools.
The results also showed some children start using sunbeds from as young as seven years old.
