Dublin senior hurling captain Chris Crummey would be happy to throw his support behind a players strike if it was voted for by the Club Players Association.
The Lucan Sarsfields hurler is a member of the CPA and feels that there are "a lot of issues" that need to be addressed.
The CPA secretary Declan Brennan refused to rule out strike action last month as the new players body pursues its main aim to "fix the fixtures".
The association was left frustrated at the GAA's Annual Congress last February when a request to air their views before a vote on official recognition was refused.
The motion was subsequently withdrawn when it became evident that it would not pass but Brennan opened up in the following days expressing the frustration and confusion felt by his members after Congress.
“Everything’s an option now," said Brennan. "It (strike) is not a road I want to go down – we want to play more games rather than strike but everything’s an option now and everything will be done to get this across the line.”
Crummey was speaking at the 2018 Leinster GAA Senior Hurling Championship Launch and was asked if he would support a decision to strike if that's what the CPA members voted for.
"If the vote came that we had to strike then I would," replied Crummey. "There's definitely a lot of issues that need to be ironed out within the club scene. The fixtures, absolutely."
Sarsfields top their group in the Dublin Senior A Hurling Championship after two big wins but Crummey points to other teams in the championship who are out of the running after just two games.
"It's very hard, if you look at Dublin for example it's been well documented, that some clubs who are out after the two games and don't really have much to play for now for the rest of the year.
"To be honest with you only two league games played and two championship games, I don't think that's right to be honest with you and I think something needs to be done about that.
"I think the calendar year needs to be sorted and needs to be rearranged to give club players something to aim for within those summer months. So to be honest I probably would yeah."
