It looks like the way numbers living in emergency accomodation are counted is going to change again.
The Housing Minister is making the Dublin Region Homeless Executive responsible for developing homeless research, and improving how the figures are reported.
Eoghan Murphy has come under fire for removing hundreds of families from official numbers in recent months.
In a statement released this afternoon, The Minister explained that "to get a greater understanding of trends and so as to interrogate to a greater extent the causes and types of homelessness arising, increased resources will be provided for research."
"A strengthened Research Team in the Dublin Region Homeless Executive will have responsibility for developing homelessness research nationally", he said.
New emergency beds, pilot family hubs in Louth and Galway and a fast-track apartment scheme for Dublin were also announced after today's Housing Summit meeting.
