The clean up after Halloween could take up to a month in parts of Tallaght.
A local councillor says certain areas have been left like a bombsite after some residents used the occasion to get rid of household waste.
Children's swing sets and electrical appliances were amongst the rubbish dumped in areas like Kilmartin and Rossfield.
Sinn Fein's Louise Dunne says there were more bonfires than usual and pitches used by Brookfield Celtic and Jobstown Celtic are in a state.
"It's been particularly bad. Usually where you'd have one bonfire on a green, there were three or four this year. A good few residents have used Halloween as an excuse to dump the contents of their house and leave it on the side of the streets rather than take it to a bonfire."
