Gardai have confirmed they're treating a fire in Inchicore as suspicious. A mother and her son are in a critical condition after the blaze broke out at Tyrone Place last night. Her two other children are being treated for less serious injuries.
There were four people in that flat at the time. A woman in her 30s was taken to St James Hospital and is described as being in a critical condition. An 8 year old male and a 12 year old male were taken to Crumlin Children’s hospital where the 8 year old is described as being in a critical condition. A 7 year old girl was taken to Temple Street Hospital for treatment.
10 units of the Dublin Fire Brigade rushed to the scene at around 11 o’clock as neighbours fled outside for safety. A woman and her three children were pulled from the blaze.
The scene has been preserved for a technical examination and Gardai are investigating the cause of the fire.
Fire officers are being praised after they stopped the fire spreading to the other flats, and investigations are continuing to try and figure out what started the blaze.
