10 people have been killed on the roads during the Easter bank holiday weekend over the past five years.
These figures come as they're reminding motorists and other road users to be careful when out and about this weekend.
Gardaí say they'll be manning extra checkpoints across the country over the bank holiday.
It's also the first weekend that gardaí can test drivers for drugs at the roadside.
Under the rules, drivers could lose their licence if they’ve taken cannabis, cocaine, opiates or benzos.
