Some of Dublin's best known venues are to be revamped as part of a €20 million investment plan.
Cafe En Seine, The George and Whelan's are on the list, along with the Mercantile on Dame Street.
The investment plan from the Mercantile hospitality firm will see the pub and hotel's room capacity triple, bringing the overall number to 100. Work wont start until September next year.
But work on some of the other venues is set to start much sooner - Opium, beside Whelan's on Wexford Street, is getting a €2 million upgrade. The construction work begins in a fortnight and will take three months to complete.
€1 million worth of upgrades will be split between the George and Whelan's, while €3 million is being spent on Cafe en Seine on Dawson Street.
