A Dublin theatre has appointed a workplace relations expert to investigate allegations of inappropriate behaviour involving its former director.
Michael Colgan, who used to run The Gate, hasn't responded to claims made by a number of people. In the past week, seven women have detailed their experiences of what they described as an "abuse of power" by Mr Colgan.
This evening, the theatre he used to run issued a statement to declare that it is taking the allegations "extremely seriously".
The Gate has appointed Gaye Cunningham as an independent expert, to carry out a "review of the matter and deal, in a confidential and transparent manner, with any complaints".
The independent expert will report back in January.
