Dublin rents are now almost 20% higher than they were during the Celtic Tiger.
The latest report from Daft.ie shows the average tenant in the city now forks out €1700 a month on rent.
The increase in the year to June in the capital was over 12%, meaning Dubliners are paying €260 more a month than they did back in 2008.
Nationally, average rental prices reached a new high during the first six months of this year, while supply is at an all-time low. The average monthly rent nationwide in the second quarter of this year was €1,159 - a jump of 12%.
The website also say there were less than 3,000 properties available to rent in Ireland on August 1st - the lowest number they have ever recorded.
