Senior staff at DIT have raised concerns about a potentially botched merger with Blanchardstown and Tallaght.
They don't believe there'll be enough room for all students at the new campus at Grangegorman.
DIT, IT Blanchardstown and IT Tallaght are to be combined to form one Technological University at Grangegorman.
According to The Irish Times, eight heads of schools have written to the chairman of DIT, saying its president isn't taking their fears about the complicated takeover seriously.
They don't believe there will be enough room for everyone at the new northside base - and they have concerns over what they claim is a lack of transparency in the set-up.
DIT Chairman Tom Collins admits there's been a lack of communication and has promised to set up a meeting.
But he's stopped short of allowing them to have a place on the Technological University's steering group.
