Some musicians / actors / orchestra conductors / golfers can get extreeeeemely thick when a ringtone starts tinkling in the audience.
Comedian Chris Rock has upped the ante by announcing his show at the 3Arena on the 30th of November will be a phone free zone.
In a first for Ireland, everyone attending the gig will have to place their phone in a Yondr Pouch for the duration.
It allows signals to get through so people can feel the vibrations of a message alert. Anyone who needs to take a call can leave the room with the pouch and have it unlocked in the lobby.
In a statement MCD says the increasing use of phones at comedians' live shows is becoming a major intrusion with the ringing, flashing lights, tweets, selfies etc affecting the quality of the performance.
"Some people spend the show posting the clips they record to You Tube rather than enjoying the actual live show they are attending."
Chris Rock has urged his fans to embrace Yondr and to take one night off from being the Paparazzo of our own life.
Dors open at 5.30 and the show kicks off at 7pm sharp
