There are calls on the city council to introduce cycle speed limits on a north side promenade after a toddler was nearly run over last week.
This near miss was outlined in a letter to the local authority.
A mother details how her family had been walking along the promenade between Dollymount and Sutton when two cyclists came speeding down the path.
They started shouting and cursing at them to get out of the way when her terrified toddler jumped off his bicycle and into the path of the cyclists.
He was pushed out of the way by her husband and received a gash to his stomach.
The mum is now calling for a speed limit for the promenade to get cyclists to slow down and have regard for other users.
