McClean Called up to Ireland Squad

James McClean has been called up to the Republic of Ireland squad for next week’s friendly with the Czech Republic at the Aviva.  After receiving clearance from FIFA earlier this month, the Sunderland winger was left out of Giovanni Trapattoni’s original 24 man squad. The former Derry City midfielder has been in great form for Sunderland since his move to the Premier League. After his call up McClean tweeted – ‘ absolutely buzzin and honoured to be called up to represent my country… best feeling there is ‘ Trap has also called up Derby midfielder Paul Green. The pair will report for duty at the weekend with the rest of the squad ahead of the game against the Czech Republic on February 29 at the Aviva Stadium.
