Munster Land Downey

Lots of speculation about where Tommy Bowe will end up next season with Munster and Ulster fighting it out for the formidable services of the Ireland & Ospreys wing but Munster have confirmed one addition to their backline next season. Northampton centre James Downey is on his way back to Munster, the 30 year old Ireland A player has also previously played for Leinster & Connacht.

New coach – new look; England’s temporary head coach Stuart Lancaster has a fresh looking 15 to take on Scotland in Saturday’s Six Nations opener in Edinburgh. Three players will make their international debuts – Saracens pair Owen Farrell and Brad Barritt as well as Northampton back row Phil Dowson. Despite being dropped by the Saints, Chris Ashton is named on the right wing, David Strettle’s on the left. Charlie Hodgson gets the 10 shirt. Five further uncapped players are named on the bench.
