Dublin City Council didn’t breech any privacy laws whey theytransferred customer details to Greyhound Recycling…
That’s the finding of the Data Protection Commissioner who’s been examining the hand-over of accounts from the local authority to the private waste collection firm, who’re now in charge of Dublin’s household bins.
The Council did get a rap on the knuckles though over the lack of notice given to customers that their details would be given to a new service provider – sending a letterĀ to homes AFTER the details were tranferred wasn’t ‘fair’ according to the Data Commissioner.
