The first episode of the battles is over on The Voce of Ireland with another episode of battles to air this coming Sunday at 6.30pm on RTE One.  Eight contestants have left the show after battling it against their fellow team members in a sing-off.

Bressie has picked his team – Pat Byrne and Gavin Kenny. Kian chose Liam Geddes and Graham Dowling.  Brian Kennedy has picked Sinead Fox and Alan Fitzsimons.  Sharon Corr chose Kellie Blaise and Vanessa Whelan for her team.

Kathryn Thomas, the host of “The Voice of Ireland” told 98FM they’re getting very excited about the live shows that will kick off the week after next.  They filmed most of the show before Christmas but the coaches are set to get even more competitive on the live shows.  She revealed that even though the coaches often bicker, they all turn into the best of friends behind the scenes.
