Russell Brand met the Dalai Lama over the weekend and the poor Dalai Lama got the shock of his life as Russell boasted to him about his love life! It was a bit of an unlikely double act as Russ introduced the spiritual leader to 11,000 people at Manchester’s MEN Arena. Russell shouted to the crowd, some of you might be surprised to see me here. I’ve gone from being shagger of the year three times to introducing the Dalai Lama! The Dalai Lama then started wagging his finger at Russell and tugging at his beard! Even Russell Brand didn’t really know what to say. The Nobel Peace Prize winner seemed to think Brand was funny and was seen laughing at him! He said some people told me to listen to this strange person’s explanations. I was surprised but I think your openness is wonderful. The Dalai Lama was over in the Uk to spread his inspirational speech on peace and non violence to young people! He lives in India. He’s been in exile since 1959, ten years after China invaded Tibet, the country he’s spiritual leader of. Russell Brand admitted he was shocked when he was asked to introduce this great man but he was honoured.  Brand said he’d taken on board the Dalai Lama’s message by forgiving Graham Norton for making his mum Barbara cry. She was in the audience for a recording of Norton’s BBC1 show last week and got upset when Graham mentioned Brand’s marriage split from Katy Perry. This was cut out of the programme.
