Mitch Winehouse rules out movie

Amy Winehouse’s album “Lioness – Hidden Treasures” has made it to the No.1 spot in the UK album charts 4 months after her death.  The album was produced by Amy’s good friend Mark Ronson with some of the proceeds going towards the Amy Winehouse Foundation.  The great news is though that some of the money will also go to an Irish charity the Laura Lynn children’s hospice foundation as Mitch Winehouse.  For every album that is sold in the UK and Ireland, £1 will be donated to the various children’s charities including the Laura Lynn House who without the donation, would have to fundraise to come up with the €2.5 million they need every year to keep the hospice in operation.

Now there was talk of a movie being made about Amy’s life so we asked Mitch Winehouse if there’s been any developments on the project.  Mitch told 98FM “It’s very difficult for me because we wouldn’t allow her music to be used in a movie other than one we perhaps might make in 80 years time – there are no plans for us to make a movie.  If someone else wants to make a movie, they’ll have to do it without the music.  It’s a difficult situation – I wouldn’t want someone to make it because you can imagine what it would be like – it wouldn’t be anything like the truth so I am a little bit concerned about someone bringing out a movie like that but I’m conforted that they wouldn’t be able to use the music”.
