Hollywood star Jason Bateman brought a bit of glitz and glam to Dublin at the Irish premiere of his new movie “The Change Up” last night.  The movie also stars the very handsome Ryan Reynolds, Leslie Mann and Olivia Wilde.

Mitch and Dave are two best friends leading very different lives – Mitch (Ryan Reynolds) is young, free and single with no commitments while married Dave (Jason Bateman) is holding down a very stressful job at a law firm, striving to be a partner while juggling a wife and 3 kids including twins who wake him up every night without fail as he attempts to get a few hours sleep. 

One day while having a pee in a fountain with his friend Mitch, Dave wishes he had Mitch’s carefree life while lonely Mitch really envies Dave’s life – coming home to a family who love him.  Unfortunately or fortunately for both, their wish comes true and they switch bodies.  Mitch wakes up in the body of Dave while Dave wakes up in Mitch’s body.

They realize nobody will believe what’s happened and with important business meetings and acting auditions already arranged for the next day, they pretty much have to wing it and take their friend’s place at work and at home.  Their behaviour is obviously out of sorts – Mitch is not used to changing nappies while Dave is certainly not used to auditioning for an “adult” movie.

98FM caught up with Jason Bateman on the red carpet – he was an absolute gent.  Like his character in the movie, Jason will have to get used to changing numerous nappies in real life as his beautiful wife, Amanda Anka, is expecting their second baby.

“The Change Up” hits cinemas on September 16th.
