Alexandra Burke has been nominated for the Brit awards for the third year running. She’s up against her X Factor mentor Cheryl Cole and fellow X Factor stars Olly Murs and Matt Cardle.

Olly Murs can’t believe he’s up for the same gong.

Olly admitted that he is delighted to be nominated for his first Brit Award.

Ollly’s is in the best single category, for his number one single of 2010 ‘Please Don’t Let Me Go.’

Olly said, “It’s a great achievement for me just over a year after the X Factor, I didn’t expect it. Last year I was on the X Factor tour, we watched JLS win Best Single and it was incredible to see. To have my name on the nominations list is amazing. I’m proud because I wrote the song. I’m getting taken more seriously because I wrote ten of the twelve tracks on my debut album.”

Cheryl Cole is up for two awards and Katy Perry and Rhianna will compete for the Best International Female Award.
