13 Reasons Why has been renewed for a third season. Netflix announced the news on their social channels overnight by uploading a short teaser video of a student opening a locker.
The third season of the controversial show is set to premiere in 2019.
The series' original star Katherine Langford, who plays Hannah Baker, recently revealed she wouldn't be returning to the show after season 2.
Meanwhile, speaking at a Netflix For Your Consideration panel last week, showrunner Brian Yorkey revealed some details about the show's plot, saying:
"What happened to Hannah will always be the first clause of the story. The rest of the story is about young people, as so many young people, maybe all young people today [learn] how to heal from the things that have hurt them…to make the world that they want it to be, not just the world they are inheriting…and above all, how to take care of each other."
Season 1 and 2 of 13 Reasons Why are available to watch on Netflix now.
